Before the Circle of Truths, we did not have a relationship between Clan and LPA. That relationship helps us understand about consonants and dissonants. For instance, A1 and Senser are consonants, they both live in the water quadrant of the circle. From this, we get the idea that an A1 will probably be a more natural Senser and have less struggle at it, while an A3 will struggle more it and will find more peace with being a Shaper.
This doesn't mean there has to be a rule that all A1s have to be Sensers. Dissonance isn't bad. It makes some things more difficult, but an A3 Senser can sit in a crowd of screaming, running children and not be overwhelmed - but actually be immensely happy seeing all the happy children playing. An a1 Senser would be really overwhelmed. An A1 Shaper is going to be handicapped as a Shaper, because the two fundamental parts of themselves are out of consonance with each other. They're going to want to have fun and play and explore, which will expose to some degree the Shaper who wants to be in a familiar environment, focused on their work. There is a dissonance with each, but there is also a benefit with each.
When Clan and LPA are in consonants, the things you are good at are easier, but you have a smaller range of experience. Because, in essence, they have separated two parts of themselves, there is a conflict between who you are deep inside (LPA) and how you express who you are (Clan). They have a choice between always being at war with themselves, or stretch to encompass them both but be less good at both. They gain more, but lose the ability to be as intensely focused as, say, an A2 Source would.
There will always be two separate pieces of you that disagree with each other on things. Learn to treat them not as "I", but as two sides of yourself. If you are one of those people, you will always have more potential for experiencing and enjoying, and always more experience for getting hurt and getting frustrated. Respect your limits, and learn to recognise and work with this dissonance.
